Nestled in an idyllic setting on the edge of the Donau-Auen National Park, our estate contains a variety of lovingly maintained farm and residential buildings. These historic buildings originally formed the castle complex, with some dating back many centuries. The original names, which they still bear today, add a certain fairy-tale charm.
The lofty Schüttkasten was originally constructed in 1774 to serve as the main granary for the region. The building’s six storeys provide a total area of 2,200 m², making it unusually spacious. The interior features large Roman stone pillars and long, hand-carved wooden beams, reminiscent of times long past.

The Rundkapelle (round chapel) is one of the oldest and most significant Romanesque structures in Austria. The chapel’s history stretches back to the High Middle Ages of the 12th century. According to lore, the chapel was built by the Templars on the site of a previous building. The chapel has since served many different purposes over the course of its long life. The building was converted in 1729 into the family burial vault we can see today.

The Meierhof was constructed in the 17th century and used to be a big square complex. It originally served as the main working centre from which the lord’s lands were managed. The complex contained essential elements of the estate including the stables, smithy, cabinetmaker, carpenter, wagon-maker, other workshops and accommodation for seasonal workers, some of which can still be seen today.
